UPMC Health Plan Pituitary Tumor Centers of Excellence

UPMC Health Plan has established a Pituitary Tumor Center of Excellence program to promote high-quality outcomes and provide an optimal patient experience for UPMC Health Plan members in response to recently published Pituitary Society guidelines that demonstrated the need for Pituitary Tumor Centers of Excellence*.

The UPMC Health Plan Pituitary Tumor Center of Excellence program recognizes only those surgical facilities and pituitary tumor physicians with the highest level of multidisciplinary specialty teams and technical capability.

Pituitary tumor physicians and facilities have established patient-centered clinical protocols/guidelines as well as an outcomes-based quality monitoring improvement program.

Both hospitals and pituitary tumor physicians must demonstrate high-level performance with a focus on optimal patient experience throughout the entire care process for the UPMC Health Plan member.
