UPMC Health Plan Again Offers Lowest Cost Marketplace Plans with Full In-Network Access to UPMC

Pittsburgh (Nov. 5, 2020) – UPMC Health Plan, the only insurer offering on-Exchange plans in every Western Pennsylvania county in 2021, today announced it is again offering the lowest cost Marketplace plans with full in-network access to all UPMC hospitals and doctors.

Between now and January 15, 2021, individuals and families in 53 Pennsylvania counties can enroll in one of UPMC Health Plan’s individual or family plans and join the more than 117,000 Pennsylvanians who are currently enrolled.

“Our consistent, sustainable plan designs with high-quality networks reinforce our unwavering commitment to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace and to providing affordable health coverage in all of our communities,” said Kimberly Orth, President of Commercial Products at UPMC Health Plan. “Recognizing the needs of our members, we are offering additional services, like full coverage for telehealth visits through UPMC AnywhereCare.”

UPMC Health Plan’s On-Exchange offerings include our lowest priced plans utilizing the Partner network, which is available in 10 counties and includes access to many high-quality providers, including all UPMC doctors and hospitals. UPMC Health Plan also offers a Select network product in Allegheny and the five surrounding counties that includes all UPMC doctors and hospitals, as well as a select group of other providers and most community hospitals. UPMC Health Plan is the only carrier offering on-Exchange products in Bedford, Indiana, Lawrence, McKean and Mercer and Venango Counties.

UPMC Health Plan members also enjoy award-winning “concierge-style” service with specialized local Member Services representatives who are available to schedule appointments, identify specialty providers and otherwise ensure smooth access to UPMC Health Plan’s world-class provider network. Other innovative services include access to behavioral health support, including social workers, counselors and nurses and a 24/7 “Nurse Line” that members can call to discuss symptoms with a registered nurse and receive guidance on whether to treat a condition at home or seek professional care.

UPMC Health Plan has a team of licensed agents ready to assist from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week during Open Enrollment at 1-877-563-0292. UPMC Health Plan Marketplace plans can also be accessed through Pennie, Pennsylvania’s new state-run insurance Marketplace. “Whether it’s through Pennie or from our team of licensed agents, Pennsylvanians have several easy avenues to learn more about how UPMC Health Plan can help them get the coverage they need and full, in-network access to UPMC,” Orth said, adding that either resource can help consumers determine whether they are eligible for tax credits or subsidies to help pay for coverage. Those wishing to secure coverage for Jan. 1, 2021 should enroll by Dec. 15.
