UPMC for Life Dual (HMO SNP) Plan and UPMC Community HealthChoices Plan Caring for Life Newsletter

CARING FOR LIFE • Issue Three • 2021 2 Every fall, all UPMC for Life members receive a very important letter called an Annual Notice of Changes (ANOC). The ANOC describes changes in your UPMC for Life benefits and cost sharing that will take effect in January. The ANOC is personalized for each member, so the letter you receive applies only to you. The format of the letter is determined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to ensure that Medicare members receive complete and accurate information about their coverage. Information contained in the ANOC includes: • Any changes to your cost sharing or coverage for your medical benefits. • Any new medical benefits that will be part of your coverage in the upcoming year or nonmedical benefits that will be removed for the upcoming year, if applicable. • Any changes to the cost of prescriptions or prescription drug tiers in your prescription drug benefit, if applicable. • Any changes to your extra benefits, such as dental, vision, hearing, and over-the- counter allowances, if applicable. Frequently asked questions about the ANOC When should I receive my ANOC? You should have received your ANOC at the end of September. If your effective date is during October, November, or December, you will receive the ANOC at a later date. Who sends it? UPMC for Life will send your ANOC. What should I do when I get my ANOC? You should review any noted changes to decide whether the plan will continue to meet your needs in 2022. Remember, if you are happy with your current UPMC for Life plan, you do not need to re-enroll. Your coverage will continue for 2022. If you have not received your ANOC, please contact our Health Care Concierge team at the phone number on your member ID card. You can also log in to your UPMC Health Plan app or My Health OnLine account to view your plan documents anytime.
