Effective Sept. 15, 2023, UPMC Health Plan will implement a new medical policy: Elective Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) – MP.PA.104. This is a change from the previously communicated effective date of Sept. 1, 2023, as posted in the August issue of Provider Partner Update. This policy will require prior authorization of PCI services to be considered for reimbursement. View more information on MP.PA.104.

Important announcement – Telehealth submissions
As of October 1, 2025, UPMC Health Plan continues to accept the submission of telehealth claims. Providers may conduct telehealth visits for UPMC Health Plan members in all UPMC Insurance products.
