UPMC Health Plan Employer Travel Coverage

Getting away from the everyday? UPMC Health Plan offers a number of tools to make sure members can get the care they need while traveling.

Emergency care

If a member is traveling and suffers from a life-threatening illness or injury, they should go to the nearest emergency department. In an emergency, members will receive the highest level of coverage, regardless of whether the facility participates in UPMC Health Plan’s network.

Urgent Care

A Health Care Concierge can help members find a participating urgent care center, convenience care clinic, or emergency department. The Health Care Concierge team is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Members should call 1-844-881-4146 or the phone number on the back of their member ID cards.

UPMC AnywhereCare virtual visits

Members and their covered dependents, including children†, can access high-quality care 24/7 using their computer or mobile device. UPMC AnywhereCare is best for nonemergency conditions, such as cold symptoms, allergies, or pink eye. Visit UPMC AnywhereCare online or download the mobile app to have a virtual visit with a provider. If needed, a provider can send a prescription to a pharmacy near the member.*
