All CHIP members must renew their coverage every 12 months. In addition to completing an electronic or paper form, they must submit proof of all household income.
A UPMC for Kids sales representative will try to contact you before your renewal due date to help with completing the process.*
UPMC for Kids offers three easy ways to renew CHIP coverage!
- Phone: Renew over the phone by calling us at 1-800-978-8762.
- Online: Renew online by visiting COMPASS, or though your myCOMPASS PA mobile app, Pennsylvania’s fast and easy way to apply for and renew health and human services benefits.
- Mail: Renew using a paper form.

- The Department of Human Services (DHS) will mail your renewal packet. This packet can be completed and returned to your local County Assistance Office (CAO)
