How can we help?
Job navigation
Are you looking for a job or a new career path? UPMC Pathways to Work can help. Through this program, you can find employment opportunities at UPMC, UPMC Health Plan, and within the community. Our recruiters have regular office hours at the Neighborhood Center, so stop by or call us to make an appointment. You can also access services from one our community partners that provides workforce development opportunities.
Food access
In partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, we distribute no-cost food boxes on the fourth Saturday of every month starting at 9 a.m.1 The boxes contain fresh produce, meats, and dairy items, as well as shelf-stable and frozen foods. Our food distribution is first-come, first served while supplies last.
Referrals to supportive resources
Need help with a challenging life situation? UPMC Health Plan’s community health workers can offer referrals to social services and supportive resources in your community. These include affordable housing and transportation supports, mental health services, childcare assistance, and more.
Virtual health care
UPMC Health Plan members2 can call us to schedule an appointment for a virtual visit through UPMC AnywhereCare, an online platform for nonemergency care. The visit with a UPMC provider will take place in one of our telehealth kiosks. Walk-ins may be seen during normal hours of operation (subject to availability).
Families are welcome
Children from birth through school age can enjoy time in our playroom while their parents or guardians participate in Neighborhood Center programs.3 Little ones will be creatively occupied but still close by, so you can take advantage of our services without worry.
Community partner services
More than 35 community organizations offer programs and services at the Neighborhood Center. Many of these organizations have regular hours at our facility.4 You can access resources to help you earn a GED, find and apply for jobs offered by local employers, participate in workforce training programs, receive financial education, enjoy a yoga or meditation session, learn how to make healthy meals, and much more!
