- Explain the etiology and progression of early childhood caries (ECC).
- Integrate oral health care practices in all visits.
- Provide effective anticipatory guidance to parents and caregivers, including the importance of visits with a dental professional.
- Understand the role of fluoride in prevention of decay.
- Apply topical fluoride varnish.
