UPMC Health Plan 2025 Marketplace Plans Continue to Focus on Affordability

Most-affordable plan option expanded into five additional counties & popular UPMC First Care plan offers $0 copays for first visits with in-network primary care doctors & specialists

Pittsburgh (Nov. 1, 2024) – UPMC Health Plan's 2025 Marketplace offerings are again among western Pennsylvania's lowest-priced plans, providing health insurance shoppers in the region access to both great value and choice—including the highly popular UPMC First Care product featuring $0 copays for members’ first visits with in-network primacy care providers (PCPs) and medical specialists, and the expansion of the Health Plan's most affordable network option, UPMC Partner Network, into five additional counties.

"Our 2025 offerings are designed to ensure Western Pennsylvanians can access world-class health care, and we are doing so with the lowest rate increases among all Marketplace plans in Western Pennsylvania," said Kim Orth, president, Commercial Products, UPMC Health Plan.

Available again for 2025 is UPMC First Care™, which makes it easier for individuals to get the care they need. Members enjoy $0 copays for their first in-person and virtual primary care provider (PCP) visits, $0 copays for their first in-person and virtual specialist visits, and $0 copays for all behavioral health office and urgent care visits through UPMC AnywhereCare.

"By removing copays for initial in-person and virtual visits with doctors, we are making it easier than ever for members to get the care and services needed to keep them healthy. UPMC First Care has become our fastest growing product—confirming that affordability and quality care go hand-in-hand with our Marketplace offerings," said Orth. "And recognizing the importance of affordable access to behavioral health, UPMC First Care has $0 copays for all behavioral health visits—so individuals know they can afford the mental health care they need."

UPMC First Care is available in most counties through Pennie®—Pennsylvania's health insurance marketplace—and the UPMC Health Plan Marketplace.

UPMC Health Plan has also expanded its UPMC Partner Network to support plans in five additional counties for 2025: McKean, Potter, Butler, Greene, and Washington counties. UPMC’s most affordable network offering on the Marketplace, this plan includes access to all UPMC and some non-UPMC providers.

In addition, more comprehensive cost-share reduction plans have been added to support Pennsylvanians who are transitioning from Medicaid or buying coverage for the first time. Affordable plans remove barriers to care and emphasize the Health Plan's commitment to providing broad access to the high-quality care of UPMC.
