Pittsburgh (April 9, 2024) – UPMC and UPMC Health Plan will be among only 54 employers honored today with the Business Group on Health's prestigious "Best Employers: Excellence in Health & Well-Being Award" for advancing employee well-being through comprehensive, innovative benefits and initiatives.
This is the 14th year that UPMC and UPMC Health Plan have earned the Excellence in Health & Well-Being Award.
UPMC and UPMC Health Plan also received the "Excellence in Health Equity Award" for a variety of initiatives and resources, including efforts to advance digital equity among employees. Winners in this category were honored for working to ensure that all employees have the opportunity to reach their full health potential by incorporating diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) into health and well-being strategies.
"Integrating DEIB efforts with our health and well-being strategies creates a thriving workforce where everyone can develop, grow, and flourish," said John Galley, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at UPMC. "We are advancing employee well-being through comprehensive, innovative benefit designs and initiatives aimed toward helping people reach their personal and professional goals."
The awards will be announced today in Tucson, Arizona at the Business Group on Health 2024 Annual Conference.
Ellen Kelsay, Business Group on Health president and CEO, said, "I am delighted to honor each and every one of these 54 employers, which demonstrably enhanced the health and well-being of employees and their families through leading-edge initiatives. In addition, their novel and impactful approaches focused on critical workforce issues, such as mental health and health equity. We congratulate all the winners."
The 2024 winners represent banking/financial services, health care, insurance, manufacturing, professional services, technology, and utilities, among others. Review the full list of winners.
