UPMC for Life Earns J.D. Power 2023 Highest Member Satisfaction Award in Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh (Aug. 28, 2023) – UPMC Health Plan today announced that UPMC for Life, a Medicare Advantage plan that is part of a family of insurance and benefit management products offered by UPMC Health Plan, has earned the highest score in Pennsylvania in the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. Medicare Advantage Study℠ of member's satisfaction with their Medicare Advantage health plan experience.

UPMC for Life achieved this top ranking among Pennsylvania plans due in part to top scores for resolving problems or complaints; providing access to digital supports, such as websites, mobile apps, and text messaging; earning members' trust; the strength and capabilities of call center staff; and efforts to save members time or money.

UPMC for Life earned a 5 out of 5-star rating from Medicare for 2023, which means that Medicare members can also enroll in a UPMC for Life HMO or PPO plan right now. Medicare members can use this Special Election Period only once between Dec. 8, 2022, and Nov. 30, 2023. Every year, Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system. UPMC for Life has a contract with Medicare to provide HMO, HMO SNP, and PPO plans. The HMO SNP plans have a contract with the PA State Medical Assistance program. Enrollment in UPMC for Life depends on contract renewal.
