PITTSBURGH (May 16, 2018) – UPMC for Life members and anyone aged 65 and older are invited to Wild Things Park to participate in activities that are part of the 25th anniversary of National Senior Health & Fitness Day on Wed., May 30, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nationally, more than 100,000 older adults will participate in health promotion events at more than 1,000 locations.
In Pennsylvania, UPMC for Life, the Medicare Advantage plan of UPMC Health Plan, is the state sponsor for National Senior Health & Fitness Day for the 11th consecutive year. UPMC for Life will host five events around the state that day, including this one at the home of the Washington Wild Things baseball team.
Visitors can enjoy ballroom dancing, line dancing, a fitness walk around the ballpark, and karaoke songs with friends. UPMC for Life members can receive preventive screenings* from the mobile screening van, including a blood pressure screening and a bone density test. UPMC for Life Health Care Concierges and pharmacists will be in attendance to talk to members about plan benefits and answer prescription drug questions.
UPMC for Life members will also learn how they can join a participating fitness facility at no additional cost.

UPMC for Life is also hosting National Senior Health & Fitness Day events at the Penn State Altoona Slep Student Center in Altoona, Blair County; at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County; at the UPMC Horizon Wellness Center in Mercer, Mercer County; and at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Berks County.

*Preventive screenings are available for UPMC for Life members only. Make sure you bring your member ID card with you to receive preventive screenings. Non-members will not be able to receive preventive screenings.
