PITTSBURGH (Nov. 16, 2015) – UPMC for Life is helping caregivers learn how to care for themselves as well as their loved ones, in an exclusive caregiver event, Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at the Circuit Center on the South Side.
Highlight of the event will be a discussion by Richard K. Morycz, PhD, of the University of Pittsburgh titled, "Family Caregiving: The Good, the Bad and the Burdened.” Dr. Morycz is an associate professor of Psychiatry, Medicine, and Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh with over 42 years of experience in the field of aging. Family caregiving has been a consistent focus for his clinical work, program development, research, and publications.
Visitors can also learn about the various caregiver services available in the community, and be encouraged by fellow caregivers who understand the joys and burdens of caring for loved ones at home. A Q&A session will follow Dr. Morycz’s talk.
November is “National Family Caregivers Month.”
The event begins at 1 p.m. at the Circuit Center, 5 Hot Metal Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
