“Switchers” TV Spot Wins Two Platinum Awards and Finishes Number One in Top 40 Category
PITTSBURGH (May 20, 2015) – UPMC Health Plan is proud to announce that “Switchers” — a UPMC Health Plan TV spot — recently won three Special Achievement 2014/2015 Spotlight Awards from the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP).
The spots, which featured two young women mulling their health insurance choices, were produced by UPMC Health Plan in conjunction with Chemistry Communications of Pittsburgh. They won Platinum Awards (the highest) in the Best Agency Materials category, as well as in the Overall category, and also finished first in the Top 40 Communications Materials category.
“‛The Switchers’ TV spot came to life through our close collaboration with Chemistry,” said Sheri Manning, Vice President of Marketing for UPMC Health Plan. “To be recognized by an organization like LACP and against such outstanding competition is extremely flattering and we feel very honored.”
LACP judges awarded “Switchers” 99 points out of a possible 100 for criteria that included overall narrative, overall visual design, message clarity, and first impression.
The 2014/2015 Spotlight Awards Global Communications Competition, together with the 2014 Spotlight Awards, drew one of the largest-ever numbers of submissions, representing a broad range of industries and organizational sizes. Materials were judged in peer-level competitions. More than 300 entries representing a dozen countries were received.
“Switchers” appeared on Pittsburgh-area TV during Marketplace open enrollment in early 2015. To view the spot online, visit https://upmchealthplan.wistia.com/medias/3gp5t5br36.
