PITTSBURGH (May 19, 2015) – UPMC for Life members and anyone age 65 and over can receive complimentary admission to the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium for the 22nd annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
For the ninth consecutive year, UPMC for Life, the Medicare Advantage plan of UPMC Health Plan, is the Pennsylvania state sponsor for National Senior Health & Fitness Day. UPMC for Life will serve as host at three events around the state that day, including the one at the zoo. Nationally, more than 100,000 older adults will participate in health promotion events at more than 1,000 locations.
Visitors to the Pittsburgh Zoo event, which begins at 10 a.m., can receive free preventive services including blood pressure reading, lung function screening and a bone density test. A pharmacist will be present to discuss prescription drugs and UPMC for Life. Health Care Concierges will be available to discuss plan benefits.
Entertainment includes a Zumba demonstration, karaoke singing and the chance to explore the new tropical island exhibit at the zoo.
