UPMC Health Plan Wins 2015 Gold Stevie Award for Customer Service

 

PITTSBURGH (March 3, 2015) – In recognition for providing exceptional customer service, the UPMC Health Plan’s Member Services Department was named a Gold Stevie Winner in the Contact Center of the Year category, at the 9th annual Stevie® Awards for Sales and Customer Service.

The Stevie Awards, the world’s premier business awards, were created in 2002 to honor and generate recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and professionals worldwide. The awards were presented to honorees during a gala banquet at the Bellagio in Las Vegas on February 27, 2015.

In addition to the Gold Award for the Member Services Department, Anne Palmerine, Associate Vice President of Customer Engagement and Enrollment Services for UPMC Health Plan, was named a Silver Stevie award winner in the Contact Center Leader of the Year category.

“Once again, our Member Services Department and its leadership have won national awards, which reinforces the dedication and commitment that UPMC Health Plan has given to providing an outstanding member experience,” said Mary Beth Jenkins, Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for UPMC Health Plan. “Our call center team is being recognized for the hard work, focus, and enthusiasm they provide to all UPMC Health Plan members.”

This year's Stevie Awards competition evaluated more than 1,900 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry. Finalists were determined by the average scores of 139 worldwide professionals, acting as preliminary judges.

UPMC Health Plan won the 2015 Gold Stevie in the category, “Contact Center of the Year (All Other Industries).” Silver winners in that category included Marriott International and Optum Rx. Winners from previous years in that category include Delta Air Lines, Kohls Department Store, DHL, Enterprise Rental Car, and GoDaddy.com.

UPMC Health Plan’s Member Services Department has won several national honors in recent years, including call center certification from J.D. Power and Associates and the Global Call Center of the Year in the large call center category awarded by the International Customer Management Institute in 2012.
