PITTSBURGH (Oct. 15, 2014) – Three UPMC for Life plans, including two $0 premium plans,* are available to Medicare-eligible residents of Lancaster County.
UPMC for Life – the Medicare plan of Pittsburgh-based UPMC Health Plan – has partnered with physicians and hospitals in the Lancaster County region to provide easy access to quality health care for the area’s residents.
UPMC for Life HMO is a $0 premium plan* with no drug coverage that is ideal for people who have prescription drug coverage through Pennsylvania’s Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly (PACE) or the Veterans Administration (VA). Members on this plan have a reduced Medicare Part B monthly premium.
UPMC for Life HMO Deductible with Rx is another $0 premium plan* that has a $750 deductible for medical services and includes prescription drug coverage. People who are generally healthy and looking for low-cost coverage will find this an ideal choice. Members of this plan will have a reduced Medicare Part B monthly premium.
The UPMC for Life PPO High Deductible with Rx plan has a $39 monthly premium and provides members with the option of in- and out-of-network providers for medical care. It also provides brand-name and generic prescription drug coverage and carries an annual deductible of $1,250.

All UPMC for Life members can take advantage of the Silver & Fit Exercise and Healthy Aging Program. This program provides membership at participating fitness facilities at no additional cost to the member. Moreover, for those who prefer to work out at home, the program provides home fitness kits including walking, Pilates, yoga, dance, and cardio strength.
Additional benefits for all UPMC for Life plans include routine vision care with your provider of choice, as well as Assist America. Assist America provides help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for members travelling more than 100 miles from home or to a foreign country. Most plans also have preventive dental benefits for cleanings and exams.
As always, all UPMC for Life members can take advantage of UPMC Health Plan’s Health Care Concierge program. Concierges are local customer service representatives who are knowledgeable about Medicare. They are dedicated to answering members’ questions and to getting their problems solved with just one phone call.
UPMC for Life maintains an “Excellent” accreditation rating from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the highest honor a managed care plan can receive.
