‘Summer Health and Wellness Event’ Coming to UPMC Health Plan Connect Service and Sales Centers

PITTSBURGH (July 22, 2014) – Learn how to grill healthy foods, how to stay safe in the sun, how to set healthy weight-loss goals in the summer, and lots more, at a special “Summer Health and Wellness Event” at the UPMC Health Plan Connect Service and Sales Centers located in two area malls.

UPMC Health Plan health experts will be on hand to discuss strategies to help you become more active, eat healthier, and feel more energized. This special health event will run from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the UPMC Health Plan Connect Service and Sales centers located in the Monroeville Mall in Monroeville and in the Millcreek Mall in Erie. 

“Summer is a great time to become more active,” said Stephen Perkins, MD, Vice President, Medical Affairs, for UPMC Health Plan. “This event can help you learn how to take advantage of this time of year to start living a healthier lifestyle.”

Effective ways to increase your intake of fruit and vegetables, how to protect your skin from the sun, and the importance of staying hydrated during the summer months are among the topics that UPMC Health Plan health experts will cover at the two events.  

All eligible persons who register for the event at Monroeville Mall can enter a sweepstakes to win free passes to Kennywood Amusement Park and Sandcastle Waterpark. Persons who register for the “Summer Health and Wellness Event” at Millcreek Mall can enter a sweepstakes to win free passes to Waldameer Park and Water World.
